He graduated from Changchun Institute of Geology in 1982. He received master's degree and doctorate degree in petrology from China University of Geosciences (Beijing) in 1991 and 1994, and was appointed as Postdoctoral Station in 1996. In 1998, he was promoted to research fellow, and he served as a master and doctoral supervisor in 1999 and 2002 respectively. As a senior visiting scholar, he has visited National Cheng Kung University, Stanford University (America), Université de Technologie de Belfort-Montbéliard (France). He has been responsible for 15 projects of the national natural science fund project and the national specialized projects, the Ministry of Land and Resources and China Geological Survey, published more than 160 papers in the core journals at home and abroad, won 9 national invention patents, 1 second class of the National Natural Science Prize, 1 first class, 3 second class and 2 third class of science and technology achievement of Ministry of Land and Resources Science, 1 first class of science and technology achievement of China Geological Survey. At present, he engages in the study of granite and tectonic evolution of the western orogenic belt in China and the magmatic system and metallogenic dynamics in the eastern china.
